1901 census...Aged 5, he was at Pot Hall, West Row with his father John CRICK [47] farm labourer/Army pensioner; his mother Emma [26]; sisters Clara H [6] and Bessie V. [3] and his widower grandfather Jeremiah CRICK [78], farm labourer. All were born in Mildenhall. 1911 census...Aged 15, a farm labourer, he was at Pot Hall, West Row with his parents; sister Bessie and brother Joe [9] born in Mildenhall. |

He enlisted in Bury St Edmunds . His Army service records have not been found and as he died of his wounds, there is no way of saying exactly when or where
he was wounded. At the end of August, beginning of September, the 7th Suffolks were in the Ploegsteert area, alternating working parties with time in the line.
